Back to: Who We Are

This synod is one of 65 synods in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It is comprised of 144 congregations in 13 counties throughout  northeastern Minnesota. There are more than 72,500 baptized members, 250 rostered leaders and over 1,500 elected lay leaders.

The word synod comes from two greek words: "syn" - together and "hodos" - a way.

"A way together" or "walking together"
