Micro –Grants from the Eco Faith Network NE Minnesota Synod:
With generous donations by an individual family fund of the Infaith Foundation, the Eco Faith Network makes micro-grants of $100-$1000 available to congregations in the NEMN Synod to assist with creation care projects at their church or supported in their community. The goal for these grants is to inspire and support members of the body of Christ in northeastern Minnesota as active participants in loving, tending, and healing the earth creation to which we belong.
Projects can be funded in a number of areas, including education, community gardening, community engagement, art and the environment, youth ministry, and participation in regional conferences, along with larger conservation projects such as lighting retrofits, solar panel installation, and other energy and/or water conservation projects. Projects are reviewed and award by the Network’s Leadership Team.

Energy Conservation Grant Resources:
Minnesota Clean Energy Seed Grants
The Seed Grants are designed to provide limited labor costs (e.g. consultant, design professional, installer, or student labor) for community-based energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects in Minnesota. CERTs is a statewide partnership with a mission to connect individuals and their communities to the resources they need to identify and implement community-based clean energy projects. Grant applications are due in October annually for the following year. Funding is provided through the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources. See http://www.cleanenergyresourceteams.org/rfp for more information. |
Property-Assessed Clean Energy (PACE)
Property-Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing allows property owners to finance energy-related improvements to their buildings with affordable, long-term capital. Energy-saving measures pursued by the owners receive project financing and are repaid as a separate item on their property tax assessment for a set period. PACE eliminates the burden of upfront costs by providing low-cost, long-term financing. Church lighting retrofits for energy efficiency would be a qualifying project. Visit website at https://www.cleanenergyresourceteams.org/pace to see if PACE financing is available in your county.
Utility Rebates
Check with your local utility company for available lighting and other energy-efficiency rebates.
