At the Northeastern Minnesota 2007 Synod Assembly, the synod Hunger, Justice and Rural Life Concerns Committee presented the resolution "A Minnesota Without Poverty." It's resolve is threefold:
- It encouraged voting members to review and sign a petition of support for the document "A Common Foundation." Your congregation is encouraged to provide opportunities (especially in November and December) for members to become informed about "A Common Foundation," the work of the Legislative Commission to End Poverty, and the work of the Statewide Organizing Team for "A Minnesota Without Poverty." We also encourage our members to sign the petitions of support for "A Common Foundation."
- It requested that each congregation provide opportunities for their members to sign a petition of support. To sign "A Common Foundation" visit: www.mnwithoutpoverty.org
- It requested that the signed petitions be presented to Minnesota's governor and legislators by the Statewide Organizing Team of a Minnesota without Poverty.
