On-going Work at Mt. Horeb
Classes have started at Monte Horeb and they are going well! Ten students are participating in the welding class and ten students are participating in the sewing class offered each afternoon. The plan is to open sessions in the morning, since there is such a high demand. The age group studying is 13 - 16. Please keep these students in your prayers as they study and learn a trade. This is a huge accomplishment and historic point in our work with the Christian Commission for Development (CCD) as Monte Horeb comes alive! What a blessing!
Funding remains an issue so keep the money flowing! Paying construction workers to complete the multi-purpose building and now these two educators throughout this next year is our hope. Your support is necessary to make this happen especially since people from our synod want to offer more classes at Monte Horeb. This is a growing ministry. Lift up these needs in your congregation and in other places. Currently, $1,638 is wired to CCD each month to pay the wages of seven, sometimes eight, people.
Ongoing Projects Include:
Water Tower Construction
Pictures below are from the 2006 teams. With the help of hired Honduran workers, groundbreaking (left) for a water tower started with the first group and progressed to placement of footings (right). Work of the second group and hired workers progressed to near completion (bottom).

Making and Placing Pavers
Pictured below are 2007 team members as they make and place pavers and then place them to form sidewalks around Mt. Horeb.
